Working out how long you worked sounds trivial until you try it in your head: 9:15 to 17:45 minus a 40-minute break, across five days, converted to decimal hours for an invoice. This calculator handles all of it — enter start and end times, add break minutes, and get the exact duration per day plus a running total.

Two details matter more than they look. **Overnight shifts** are handled automatically: enter 22:00 to 06:00 and the tool recognises the span crosses midnight and returns 8 hours, rather than a nonsensical negative. And **decimal hours** are shown alongside the hours-and-minutes figure, because payroll and invoicing systems almost universally want decimals — where 8 hours 30 minutes is 8.50 hours, not 8.30. Entering 8.30 for a 8h30m shift is one of the most common timesheet errors there is, and it costs real money.

Add a row for each day to total a week, with breaks deducted per day, and the summary shows total worked time, time before breaks, and total break time.
