About this tool
The trick behind fancy text is that these aren't fonts at all — they're separate Unicode characters that happen to look like styled letters. 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗱 is Mathematical Bold, 𝓢𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽 is Mathematical Script, ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ is Enclosed Alphanumerics. Because they're real characters rather than formatting, they survive being pasted anywhere text goes — Instagram bios, X posts, WhatsApp messages, Facebook, TikTok captions, Discord usernames, YouTube comments — places where actual font styling isn't allowed.

A technical note that matters for reliability: Unicode's Mathematical Alphanumeric block contains intentional gaps, because a handful of letterlike symbols (ℎ, ℬ, ℭ, ℌ and others) were encoded separately years earlier. Converters that ignore this produce broken boxes at exactly those letters — the italic lowercase h is the one you'll see fail most often. Every style here maps those gaps explicitly, so all 53 render completely across the full alphabet.
Rendering still depends on the fonts installed on the viewer's device. The widely-supported styles — bold, italic, monospace, strikethrough, upside down — display essentially everywhere; the more exotic blocks may show placeholders on older systems. Frequently asked questions
How do I use fancy text in an Instagram bio?
Type your text here, click the style you want to copy it, then paste into the bio field in the Instagram app. It works because these are Unicode characters rather than formatting — Instagram stores and displays them like any other text. Bios are limited to 150 characters, and some styles use more characters than they appear to.
Does fancy text work on WhatsApp?
Yes — paste any style into a message, your status, or your profile name. WhatsApp also has its own built-in formatting (*bold*, _italic_) which only works inside messages; these Unicode styles work in names and status too, where the built-in formatting doesn't.
Why do some styles show as empty boxes?
The viewer's device lacks a font covering that Unicode block. Bold, italic, monospace, strikethrough and upside down have near-universal support; runic, some enclosed variants and rarer blocks depend on the device. If a style matters, test it by sending it to yourself on the target platform first.
Will these fancy fonts work on TikTok and Discord?
Yes — both accept Unicode text in captions, usernames and messages. Discord additionally supports its own markdown formatting inside messages, but for usernames and server names these Unicode styles are the only way to get a styled look.
Is fancy text bad for accessibility?
Yes, and it's worth knowing. Screen readers often announce Mathematical Bold A as 'mathematical bold capital A' rather than 'A', or skip the characters entirely. Use it for decorative touches — a bio flourish, a header — and keep the substance of your message in plain text.
