Rotate PDF

Rotate PDF pages 90°, 180° or 270° — all pages or a specific range — right in your browser.

About this tool

Scanned documents and phone-photographed pages often come out sideways or upside down, and a PDF that displays rotated is awkward to read and unprofessional to send. This tool rotates pages to the correct orientation and saves the fix permanently into the file — 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise (270°), or a full 180° flip for upside-down pages.

You can rotate every page at once — the common case for a scan that came in entirely sideways — or target specific pages with a range like 1-3, 5, for documents where only some pages need turning. The rotation is cumulative and respects each page's existing orientation, so it does the right thing even on files where pages already have different rotations. The corrected orientation is baked into the saved PDF, so it displays correctly in every reader, not just yours.

Like all the PDF tools here, it runs entirely in your browser through pdf-lib — your document is never uploaded. Rotation is a lightweight, lossless operation (it just records the display angle; no pixels are re-rendered), so it's instant and doesn't degrade quality. Fix that sideways scan and send it on, privately.

Frequently asked questions

Does the rotation save permanently in the PDF?

Yes — the corrected orientation is written into the saved file, so it displays right in every PDF reader, not just on your screen. This is different from temporarily rotating the view in a reader, which doesn't change the actual file.

Can I rotate just some pages, not all?

Yes — type 'all' for every page, or specify pages like '1-3, 5' to rotate only those. This is useful for documents where a few pages were scanned sideways but the rest are correct. Each rotation applies on top of the page's current orientation.

Which way is 90 versus 270 degrees?

90° turns pages clockwise (the top edge moves to the right); 270° turns them counter-clockwise (top edge moves to the left); 180° flips them upside down. If you're unsure, try 90° first — if it's now wrong the other way, 270° is what you needed.

Does rotating reduce PDF quality?

No — rotation is lossless. It simply records the angle at which each page should display; no content is re-rendered or re-compressed. Text stays selectable and images keep full resolution. And it all happens in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.
